Printing a Document Using an Imposition Method

When printing a document that contains multiple pages, you can use an imposition setting to reduce print costs by trimming the printed sheets into several pages. This function is known as "Imposition". There are two settings for the Imposition function: Speed and Double.

If you print an A4 document that contains multiple pages using Speed, two pages of the document are printed on a single A3 sheet side by side with the odd and even pages separated. The A3 sheets can then be stacked and cut in half to make the A4 document. If you print an A4 document that contains multiple pages using Double, two copies of the same page are printed on a single A3 sheet side by side. The A3 sheets can then be stacked and cut in half to make two sets of the A4 document.
